the real skeptic.

http://www.letstalkflyingsaucers.com/

peter bros is a voice of challenge to the religion of science.

he challenges the basic assumptions of the dogma that science has used to dumb us into not asking obvious questions about the silly answers science provides us in describing reality.

granted scientific inquiry has provided a platform for engineering over the last few centuries for bridge building, auto manufacturing, computers, etc......but what about the big questions?

what is gravity?

how was the universe created?

what is electricity?

science provided us with measurements and theories and hypothesises, which are fine, but when we reach the conclusion we are none the wiser.

we are at the point where we need to have a science and technology that serves our needs, as opposed to feeding scientists for continuing to provide answers that are unproveable.

the big bang for instance; what is that?

and what IS electricity. we all know what it does and it`s effects. simple observation provides those answers. we want to know what it is, so that we can discover new uses and functions of this energy source.....or possibly new and better ones....because that`s how minds work.

and what is gravity?

and objects moving in a straight line unless effected by an outside source?

the only place in the universe where that happens is an object falling in gravity.

everything else bends, twists and turns.

certainly science hasn`t addressed these issues. science has merely made bold, unproveable statements and gone back to thier desks knowing that nobody will challenge the "big bang" or any other answer in a meaningful way.

imagine for a minute.

imagine that you were so aware of yourself and of humanity and politics and sport and science and art that it all became predictable and well, boring.

that is what it would be like to be a conscious god.

when we are bored we play with our food and with our consciousness.

as children we spun around as fast as we could or held our breath to see what would happen.

and we got more elaborate in our games didn`t we?

but anyway, imagine if we were omnicient, that we could actually see everything and got bored and that we were all sitting around twiddling our thumbs one day and one of us got a bright idea.....

"hey, lets create a dream state were we can imaging any fantasy we could imagine"

so they all did and got even more bored, with wealth, power, destruction etc.

then someone decided to create a life-long dream where by they forgot they were omniscient, and everyone joined in.

the ultimate game.

i guess some of us are remembering that it`s a game.

the function of the meta-man.

once you find the practice of shifting consciousness comfortable and you are able instantly switch focus, then you will begin to notice....that.....when you take some time to go within and be still and quiet you open up a new world.

this new world is filled with possibilities and adventures and choices and actual answers to problems.

actual answers to problems.

that no amount of yelling and screaming could ever produce.

the moments we sit quietly and rest, the more we move closer to a meta-consciousness.

the big picture becomes a little clearer then.

it is not the visualisation practice or the relaxation health benifits or the improvement in you golf swing that is important.

it is the little window that opens up just for a minute occasionally and you find yourself popping your head out and............

nothing.

just for a moment or two.

or possibly an enternity.

more on the meta-man.

so now that you have had a few moments peace and quiet, what`s next?

more.

the more we relax and visualise our ideal existance, then the more we can find ourselves in that state again when we need to.

a comedian once said that whenever he was around his nagging girlfriend we would transport himself into his "happy place".

though this was a comedy sketch and probably not the best way to deal with his relationship, it is a clear example of being able to switch conscious "gears when we would like to.

on the highway in traffic, for instance, or in preparing for a speech, or a job interview.

situations where stress has the ability to overwhelm your ability to be effective and get a result from your activities.

this technique is useful for preparing for athletic events for instance, and though many athletes do this naturally prior to an event, it is becoming common in coaching to use this in training.

and yes, i am saying that we must prepare and train for our lives as an athlete.

otherwise we have to accept what we already have when we are stressed and tired from coping with........everything.

and i know you wouldn`t have read this far if you didn`t have some inkling that the had to be a better way somehow, maybe.

we are begining to approach this shift in consciousness from a variety of ways.

yoga, meditation, creative visualisation, nlp, hypnosis.....this list is growing as our desire for attaining this shift coontinues.

we are naturally eveloving into a meta-man.

we have to.

well, some do.

those who feel the desire and can take the time to expand thier consciousness away from the mundane, the heavy and the material into an unattached peaceful state whereby we can find solutions to things.

and that`s the next and most imoprtant point.

the meta-man.

and i use the term man in the generic sense.

this applies to men and women equally.

we struggle here in this existance, at times. we show ourselves pictures and play sounds in our heads. we do this over and over, most of the time not realising that we have flexibility over these processes, and so the imagery that we surround ourselves with becomes our world.

now, this is generally perfectly acceptable, and we just get used to the constant noise of it all clattering along as a faithful companion in our daily lives.

but what if the noises in our head are distracting or disturbing or worse?

wouldn`t it be useful to know that there are options available to divert our attention from the epic movie playing on the big screen inside, so that we can, quite literally, take time to smell the roses?

have you ever smelled a rose?

it`s delicate scents reach the nose after a few moments of quiet reverie as you lean over the flower, and the aroma of the petal`s musk drifts gently across that short space to the sensitive inner mechanisms of your nose.

then you notice the effects of this as your mind recognises the smell of this unique thing we know as a rose.

to smell a flower is an involved process including actually deciding to allow your brain to accept the scent, and this adjustment is part of the consciousnesses switching capability that we are unaware of as we pass through the noise tunnel of our existance.

so for the past few moments we have shared an inquiry into smelling a rose.

we have in actual fact found and taken the time to smell a rose.

for some of you the experience may have been substantial enough to have included an actual smell.

remarkable.

we have all just experienced a shift in consciousness together on this page.

no drugs, no guilt and no side effects........well, no negative ones anyway.

so where does this leave us?

for the past few moments you were free of distractions, chatter and noise.

and you had the opportunity to change your life profoundly.

and all you have to do is choose to be in control of your thoughts first.

before the clatter of everything else takes over.

it may take some time practicing.....smelling roses, or imagining your perfect golf swing, or driving a sportscar around a winding racetrack with several other cars in hot pursuit....or playing a concert violin concerto perfectly in front of a huge crowd.

whatever your indulgence, it will transport you sensorally into another dimension of existance, that will allow you to then attain some peace from the noise.

intolerance.

i am admittedly intolerant of certain types of behaviour.

the behaviour i`m most intolerant of is the um, retentive propensity for irritability.

those type of people drive me crazy.

short-tempered, impatient, hostile and quick to accuse.......on a hair-trigger.

and funnily enough these types of people are precisely and exactly as intolerant of me as i am of them.

the patient, understanding and non-judgemental type, who wants to live and let live.......

except when i get around the cranky bastards mentioned above.

so where does that leave us all?

no further ahead, but for the fact that i know one more thing i don`t want.

though i do enjoy it when one of those types comments here.

waiting...........

choosing good feelings for no reason.

recently i gave a lecture on past-life regression, and at the lecture a fellow decided to become actively involved in the discussion.

his view was that we have feelings which we tend to react to in a variety of ways that we come to know as consciousness.

i was grateful for this fellow`s contribution as it drew me to making a distinction.

i have heard this position on several occasions, mostly from students of psychology and psychiatry.

the position of the a priori existance of feelings suggests that these things are entities on thier own that arrive fully formed into our consciousness, and that we are merely witness to them.

this creates a problem for those who`s feelings aren`t to thier liking.

my view, and the view shared by many in hypnosis and nlp, is that the feelings we experience are the result of a chain of events in thinking comprised of pictures, sounds, smells, and sensations that are created in the mind and that we have control of them in precise and repeatable ways.

an actual science.

for instance, we know what a lemon looks like.

we know what it feels like.

we know what it tastes like.

we can imagine in our minds cutting the lemon with a sharp knife and biting into the juicy flesh of the fruit.

and then we experience something interesting as a result.

we salivate.

i am doing this as i sit in front of the computer and i`m salivating.

i do this with clients and we salivate.

i do this in lectures and we all salivate.

and i don`t need a real lemon to do it.

ever.

so, if we control the images we show ourselves first we can control the feeings we get as a result.

this takes discipline.

showing ourselves positive images takes practice.

the sooner you do it and the more you practice, the more quickly and consistantly you will be able to feel good.

without having to have a reason.............

infallability.

if we aren`t infallable, then how can we trust in our ability to know that we aren`t actually a super-sentient being that has merely forgotten who we are?

or as my dad would say;

"are we a butterfly dreaming that we are a man?"

anyway, who knows.

all i know is that we have choice to be either/or.

the glass is either half-full of half-empty, or we need to get a different glass.

recently.

recently i have been challenged like no other time in my life......and i have to say that i am pleased at the way this human has reacted.

there have been moments of doubt, but all in all i have found myself able to take a step back, and coach myself into choosing to feel good for no reason and coming away smiling.

and there is the realisation of the abundance in all things here in this realm.

the good. the bad and the ugly.

and that is sufficient for this human.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=LqeC3BPYTmE

the hollywood image of the god complex. hostile and narssistic.

pure alec baldwin.

the same one that said he would leave america if george bush was voted in for a second term.

what a dick.

but my point is that if we believe that we have to be an arrogant dick to be god, then we wont.

or we`ll be an arrogant dick.

there is another way.

just realise that the common element in all of our experiences is........

us.

we are the ones.

long before we need to bring in another element to explain things, we can include ourselves in a meaningful way.

just like the church did with thier idea of what god is.......that they talk to.

apparently.

i get in trouble for this one.

i am god.

so are you.

the western christian mind says that the human`s ability to percieve reality is untrustworthy and that we need to have our perceptions interpreted for us by um, someone more qualified to comment.

sure.

someone who speaks to god.

o.k. so we can`t trust our own fallable reasoning, yet we trust our reasoning when we are told we aren`t able to think clearly.

interesting.

basic paradox.

i talked to god about this today and he just laughed........

the shaman.

i have searched for a way to describe myself.......to myself...................... for my whole life.

i have at once been an athlete, a father, a therapist, a critic, an observer, an intuitive, an artist, a consumer, a poet, a romantic, a ragmatist, a philosopher, a minister, a joker, a comedian and an angry man frustrated by not being able to do more to get my point across.

well, i realise now that maybe it`s not so important to get my point across, but it is important to know what i am.

and why is that?

so that i can be true to myself in my actions and intent.

i realise now that my political and social positions are drawn from understanding the futility in all of our human struggles......that at the end of the day, when we put our heads on our pillows and wait for sleep to come.......we are all the same.

just unconscious meat.

and when we wake once again we have the choice to continue to struggle against this simple fact, or accept the game at hand and realise that there is no winning to be had.

so yeah, my role......or my description of myself.

shaman.

a man who has gone to the edge of consciousness and survived that which destroys the unprepared.

and where does that leave me?

i believe it gives me the responsibility of those in need of a guide through thier own dark period.

and that`s what i wake up to each morning.

question one.

who`s trance is is real?

the shaman in the bush or the minister in prayer.

the hypnotist in session or the channeler?

the child dreaming thier imaginary friend or the artist at work?

or those who suffer hallucinations.......?

it is interesting to me that there are those who are very protective of thier ability to judge who`s trance is valid and who`s isn`t.

and are ready with the drugs.

well, well, well.

this is the emerging of the trance formation.

i am moving rapidly from the hypgnosys paradigm.

it is not that i will cease to post there, it is just that i felt that the hypgnosys field was too restricting for what now needs to be said.

those who venture here will be provided with reports from the edge.

not the edge of some "sanity" described by modern society, but the edge of left-brain perception and beyond.

the last few years of discussion at hypgnosys has sharpened my focus on what is "real" and that which is merely contained in a semantic tunnel reality that 500 years of technological self-referencing has created.

the machine mind, i.e. that part of us that interacts with tools and machinery, has become anesthetised and reduced to task-oriented gestures that have all but destroyed aspects of our consciousness that we had access to before the printed word emerged.

the reading, writing and arithmetic have allowed us to help manifest the glory of modern society in it`s technological magnificence.......but at what cost?

the cost is only now being assessed via inquiry into what have come to know as culture, society, politics and humanity it`s self.

granted this inquiry has always occured, but for the most part the inquiry was in universities and boardrooms.

the shift has occured as the internet has become a normal communication tool, allowing the average person with questions the means to find answers.....or at least better questions to propel thier inquiry.

and so.....on with the questions.
